The Wearing of Boots

She was in the tent.

He was waiting outside.

She was lacing up her brand new hiking boots.

He was planning a walk before sunset.

She would be ready soon.

He should be changing too, and knew what to do.

She laughed when he stepped into the tent, “What are you wearing?”

He smiled, “Camouflage, leaves and sticks and branches from the woods, sewed into my cloths.”

She waved him back outside, “Get out please, the leaves are falling everywhere, people with stare.”

He looked at her, “I’m blending into nature, for the walk, no one will see me.”

She smiled, “Well unfortunately, I can still see you.”
